Winterslow's Open Space ploughed up again

Just when villagers had started to regenerate the footpaths across the field that many had used over the years, and with a slight thought that we might be getting back to normal, the field has been ploughed up again.  This reiterates the need for everyone's support in opposing the development on this field.  There is still time to complete your evidence of use form (available from the shop or online here) and add your voice to the growing band of WOOD supporters

Did you use Winterslow's Open Space?

As part of the on-going campaign to preserve the land adjacent to Middleton Road as an open space and to fight the development plans of Savill’s and Primetower, WOOD are looking to apply for registration of the land as common land and to establish some Rights of Way, footpaths to be precise, across the land.

If you have used the open space by Winterslow village hall, please complete the forms relating to our Common Land campaign and Footpath campaign.  The more responses the better; please pass the word on.

Salisbury Journal: WOOD campaign gathers pace

The Salisbury Journal has recognised the momentum that WOOD are gaining in an article appropriately titled "WOOD Campaign gathers pace".  The article states that:

"A CAMPAIGN against a large-scale development in the centre of Winterslow is gathering momentum.

People fighting plans to build up to 140 homes, industrial units, a children’s nursery and accommodation for elderly people on agricultural land near the village hall have banded together to form a protest group called WOOD – Winterslow Opposed to Over Development."
